I've loved him in the last few games, one of the hardest workers on the ice and having his new line mates it shows that his speed really compliments, especially with Paille with him, they have some great speed and have been relentless on the fore check.
he may not be putting the puck in the net, but he has been noticeable every single game in the last month or so |

Agreed, all CHI needs is this game and were back to a best of 3 with CHI having Home Ice ADV, need to come out and put this one away and then have 3 chances to Bring the cup back where it belongs
(Plus then i will get to see the Cup again in both Halifax with Marchand and PEI with Quaider lol) |

haven't lost a home game since the buds awakening. did you go to newfie too when ryder brought it back home? i saw it in martha's vineyard and i'll take it to my grave that i didn't buy tuukka and his friends a round.
what's neat for either team is many players will already have their names engraved on it. |

No I am from NL but now living in New Brunswick so it was much too far to travel back, but I have a lot of buddies that went to see him there and said it was one hell of a party when he brought it back to the rock lol |

I think the most impressive thing about Seguin in these Cup Finals has been his commitment to backchecking. He has really shown a desire to buy into Claude's system and has been a real asset in the neutral zone and defensive zone (the latter of which I cannot believe I am typing). He deserves a ton of credit for contributing in those areas, especially since he's not finding the back of the net. I think it shows a lot about his character, as many #2 overall picks who are used to scoring essentially at will likely would not alter their game and would remain frustrated and useless. |

good point. it helps having krejci, bergeon, marchand, paille, etc rubbing off on him. even jagr is buying into it and he almost seems at peace with not scoring. also, seguin is much stronger than his rookie season. |

Yes, there is no better player in the league for someone like Seguin to learn from than Bergeron.
Jagr has definitely bought in more recently than in the past, but still not 100%. I mean, how many times will he try and carry the puck into the offensive zone against 1 or 2 defenders? He flat out REFUSES to dump the puck in deep. But you take the good with the bad from Jagr, with the former far outweighing the latter. He has been a key cog in the first three games. |

I think the Bruins will be tested BIG time tonight. This Hawks team has not played well the last 5 periods and they know it. There are a lot of champions on this Hawks team and they have a lot of pride. They've been ripped repeatedly in local and national media, and I think they will come out and play with a purpose tonight. Will it be enough? It wasn't for Pittsburgh (who came out and played with a purpose after being criticized by the media) but, again, this Hawks team is chock full of champions.....more so that Pitt. |

when he can make that sort of pass on the second goal, and basically threads the needle with the exact same pass on the next PP to seguin. He gets a free pass when he tries to out Jagr the D |

Just look at the players who were on that Hawks championship team who are still on the team and playing key minutes....Kane, Toews, Sharp, Hossa, Seabrook, Keith, Hjalmarsson (i.e., arguably the team's top 7 players the top 5 of which were the top 5 scorers when they won the Cup), not to mention guys like Bolland, Bickell.
Now look at Pitt. Of their top 6 players this season (Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Kunitz, Dupuis, Letang), only Malkin and Crosby (and yes, to a lesser extent Dupuis and Letang) were key players on the Cup team. They are also missing from that Cup team guys like J. Staal, Peter Sykora, Rob Scuderi, Ryan Whitney, Sergei Gonchar...
Chicago lost key players too, but the majority of this Chi team is identical to the Cup team. Pitt looks much more different than Chi does. |

Seguins has been a beast last few games, and its noticable, but he seems to be making Kelly a much better player too, and Paille is taking his game to a whole new lever. Finally a dangerous 3rd line again.

The steps forward he has taken are impressive. I feel for the kid as the bounces haven't quite gone his way, but, I love that he has searched out other ways to contribute. The bounces will come. Speaks a lot to his character and like Ty said, you don't see many #2 picks deviating from their game.

loved his qoutes after Game 3 when asked if he is frustrated about his lack of offense. "We are Winning so who cares about personal stats", more or less when interviewed by CBC |

Team full of champions. - bixll
Hawks have 10, Penguins had 9 so they have the edge. But I still contend it matters which players have the championship pedigree. When Chi won the Cup its top 4 forwards were Kane, Toews, Sharp, Hossa. All four are still the team's top 4 forwards. When Chi won the Cup its top 4 d-men were Keith, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson, and Byfuglien. 3 of those 4 are still part of the Hawks' top 4.
Conversely, when Pitt when the Cup, it's top 4 forwards were Crosby, Malkin, J. Staal, and Peter Sykora. 2 of them are gone. Their top 4 d-men were Letang, Gonchar, Orpik, Scuderi. Again, 2 of them are gone.
If you want to look at straight numbers the Hawks still have more. But if you look at who the players are, there is little doubt that the Hawks have far more key players who are champions. |
